Parents attack Strict Rules At Oprah School In South Africa

Oprah Winfrey who thinks she is a god cos she has got money and is the 'richest black woman in the world' has come under fire from parents of children attending her all-girl leadership academy in South Africa - for keeping them away from their kids.

As the media mogul opened a second South African school on Friday, the parents of kids attending her first educational facility outside Johannesburg were on the attack.

They claim strict visitation rules are far from ideal and they want greater access to their children. A small group of mothers have compared the school's restrictions on visits and phone calls to life in a prison. The concerned mums reveal they're only allowed to spend two hours a month with their daughters, who are full-time students at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in Henley-on-Klip.

Frances Mans, the foster mother of student Gweneth Mulder, tells South Africa's Media 24 network her recent visit to the school was a "nightmare." She explains, "We had only two hours to see my child. Surely this isn't a prison."
A second mother, Angela Conradie, reveals her homesick daughter is very upset about the school rules: "Michelle phones me in tears sometimes, and then I don't know what to say to her."

I am not surprised that she will give these strict rules, she has to be in control of things all the time. But the parents have got a choice, they can withdraw their kids from the school.

Lindsay Lohan in the news again!

Lindsay Lohan who is always in the news for nothing positive, hurled obscenities at a nightclub crowd in New York on Thursday night when fans refused to stop taking photographs of the actress as she hosted a DJ set.

The Mean Girls star, who recently underwent counselling to curb her wild ways(at just 21), was DJing at Manhattan's Plumm nightclub when she lost her temper as fans kept 'flashing' her.

Lohan turned off the music from the DJ booth and reportedly screamed at the snap-happy fans, "If I see one more f**king flashbulb go off, I'm going to stop the music and I'm out of here."

Fans took her threat seriously and the rest of her DJ set went smoothly.

It was a tense night for Lohan(who has joined the likes of Angelina Jolie), she demanded club owners hire extra security to make sure her estranged father,(cos she's got money and now thinks she is a god to her father) who was released from prison earlier in the week after serving time for assault, didn't get access.

Sources say Lohan handed bouncers a photograph of her father, Michael, and told them to keep him out if he showed up. I dont think that is fair but it is her business.

Upon his release from jail, Michael Lohan revealed he wanted to reconcile with his famous daughter.
If he wants to reconcile i think she should give him a chance, but that is my opinion(which isn't worth anything to her). The bottom line is ur parents/siblings will always be ur parents/siblings, no matter what. "U can chose ur friends but can't chose ur family".

Ray Quinn's debut album is number one on the UK album chart!

X Factor loser Ray Quinn has taken the top slot in the UK album chart.

The 18-year-old Liverpudlian was pushed into second place in last year's competition final but entered the album charts at number one with his debut offering.
The young star celebrated the news with a live Mother's Day performance at Liverpool club, The Cavern.

He was also honoured with a listing on the famous venue's Wall of Fame alongside musical icons The Beatles, David Bowie and Elton John.
His self-titled album of swing tunes trounced that of X Factor rival Ben Mills who also released an album this week.
Ray was also presented with a Guinness World Record for being the youngest male artist to enter the UK album chart at number one without releasing a single.

Ray said: "I'm absolutely speechless. I can't believe my first album has gone to number one.
"It's weird to think that so many people have actually gone out and bought the album and have listened to it.
"Obviously I want to thank them and everyone else who has supported and helped me get here.
"And I get to find out the good news on the day I can play The Cavern. It is amazing."
Amazing how someone who lost in a competition, someone who the judges/audience didn't think was good enough to win, released an album which has become number.

Wayne Rooney and Coleen Mcloughlin net a 1.5Euro wedding deal.

WAYNE ROONEY, the England footballer, and Coleen McLoughlin, his childhood sweetheart, are to marry in the summer of 2008 after agreeing a deal worth more than £1.5m with the celebrity magazine Hello!

It is the most the magazine has paid for exclusive access to a celebrity wedding, beating the £1m paid to Elizabeth Hurley this month for coverage of her celebrations in Britain and India.

Their popular appeal, or at least their financial pulling power, also exceeds that of David and Victoria Beckham, who received £900,000 from the rival OK! magazine for their wedding in Ireland in 1999.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas received a similar amount for their wedding in 2000.

The deal was finalised last week and also covers McLoughlin’s 21st birthday party at the end of this month.
The couple, who got engaged on a petrol station forecourt in 2003, decided to go ahead after being impressed by the security arrangements around the Hurley wedding.

Sports sponsors and advertising agents are convinced that the couple have an appeal which far transcends their origins on a Croxteth council estate.

Rooney, 21, who signed a new £100,000-a-week contract with Man-chester United last November, has a £5m deal over 10 years with Nike and is the face of calorie-free Coke Zero.

McLoughlin has already demonstrated her own earning power. Last year she signed a £400,000 book deal for Welcome to My World, a story of her rise from being an ordinary schoolgirl to a style icon and cover girl.

Today it tops The Sunday Times best-seller list and it has outsold The Dangerous Book for Boys by more then three to one in the past week.

In it she tells of her heartbreak after it emerged that Rooney had visited prostitutes as a 16-year-old. She also gives sage advice on such matters as how to accessorise without lapsing into bling, and why it is inexcusable to wear a visible thong above a trouser waistband.

McLoughlin is one of the highest earning “wags” — footballer’s wife or girlfriend — in Britain. Her agents are in talks for her to co-present television shows and to renew her contract as the face of Asda. Some predict that she will become a popular television presenter, in the style of Cilla Black.

The first half of the Hello! deal covers her 21st birthday party at Thornton Hall on the Wirral in two weeks’ time. The 300 guests are expected to include a host of footballers and pop stars, including P Diddy, the rap star. The Sugababes are due to perform hits such as Taller in More Ways.

Ian Monk, the publicist for the couple who helped set up the deal with Hello!, said: “We cannot discuss our clients’ business.”

Why waste money on all these 'efizi'and get a divorce after 2months to 2 years?
Whats the point?

Chlorine Bombs poison hundreds in Iraq.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Insurgents in western Iraq set off three chlorine gas car bombs, U.S. forces said on Saturday, weeks after two similar attacks sparked fears of a new campaign using unconventional weapons in Iraq.

The Friday attacks, which the U.S. military said made hundreds ill and killed at least two, came a month into a U.S.- Iraqi security crackdown in Baghdad aimed at stemming sectarian violence that threatens to pitch Iraq into outright civil war.

In Washington, thousands of anti-war demonstrators, some carrying signs reading "U.S. out of Iraq now!" marched towards the Pentagon. Police said about two dozen had been arrested in front of the White House late on Friday, just days ahead of the fourth anniversary of the start of the war.

Tens of thousands protested against the war across Spain, in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and other cities. In the capital, left-wing political leaders and Spanish celebrities such as film director Pedro Almodovar marched behind a banner reading "End the occupation in Iraq, shut down Guantanamo".
The U.S. military said two suicide bombers driving dump trucks carrying chlorine made 350 people ill near the town of Falluja on Friday, and a smaller car bomb near Ramadi also released chlorine, though there were few casualties.
The U.S. statement reported two deaths in one of the attacks but hospital sources said earlier eight people were killed and dozens became ill after the two bombings in the Falluja area.

The U.S. military announced the combat deaths of six soldiers, four killed by a roadside bomb in western Baghdad and one shot dead in Baquba, north of the capital on Saturday. Another died in a bomb blast south of Baghdad on Friday.

Australian Prime Minister John Howard, one of Washington's most loyal allies in the war, visited Baghdad on Saturday and told Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki that Australia would keep its troops in Iraq as long as they were needed.

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation said Howard's plane made an emergency landing after a visit to Australian troops in southern Iraq. The plane's loading bay filled with smoke, forcing it to return to Talil airbase. The cause of the incident was not immediately clear. Howard disembarked safely.

Chlorine gas was widely used in World War One but its use in insurgent attacks in Iraq has particular resonance there. Saddam Hussein attacked Kurdish areas with chemical weapons in the 1980s during the Iran-Iraq war.
Two bombs with chlorine killed eight people earlier this year. It causes severe burns when inhaled and can cause death.

The U.S. military said they discovered an al Qaeda car bomb factory last month near Falluja with chlorine tanks.
Anbar, a mainly Sunni Arab province in which Falluja lies, has long been among the most troublesome areas of Iraq for U.S. forces.

HOUSING HIT:
Friday's two bombs near Falluja exploded within 40 minutes of each other.
In the first, near the town of Amiriya, two Iraqi police were killed and up to 100 Iraqis showed signs of chlorine exposure, with symptoms ranging from minor skin and lung irritation to vomiting, the U.S. statement said.

Soon afterwards, a suicide bomber detonated a dump lorry carrying a 200-gallon (900-litre) chlorine tank rigged with explosives south of Falluja. Around 250 civilians became ill.

Earlier on Friday, a smaller bomb using chlorine detonated at a checkpoint north-east of Ramadi, the capital of Anbar, wounding one U.S. soldier and one Iraqi civilian.

Hospital sources said one of the Falluja attacks targeted a large housing complex, killing six people including policemen, while the second targeted a tribal leader opposed to al Qaeda.

U.S. commanders say a growing number of tribes in Anbar have joined forces to take on al Qaeda, which has hit back with major bombs targeting civilians.
Baghdad was relatively quiet on Saturday, but a suicide car bomb in the west of the city killed two people, including one policeman, and wounded five.

There were no reports of further trouble in Sadr City, a Shi'ite militia stronghold where about 2,000 supporters of radical anti-American cleric Moqtada al-Sadr gathered on Friday to demand U.S. forces withdraw.

Sadr City, a stronghold of Sadr's Mehdi Army militia, is seen as a crucial test of Maliki's plan to crack down on violence by both Shi'ite militias and Sunni Arab insurgents.

News from Nigeria: Senate passes new EFCC Act

The Senate on thursday passed the newly amended Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Act, which prevents the President, Olusegun Obasanjo from unilaterally sacking any member of the commission, including its chairman, without recourse to the National Assembly.

Similarly, the new law also stipulates that EFCC must obtain a court order before confiscating the properties or freezing the accounts of suspects.

The amended act also says "the chairman or any member of the commission, may only be removed by the president acting on the address supported by two-thirds majority of the senate for inability to discharge the functions of the office or for misconduct", while section 43 which had given powers to the Attorney General of the Federation to make rules or regulations with respect to the exercise to any of the duties, functions or powers of the commission, now reads "without prejudice to the provision of section 174 of the constitution in the exercise of its functions, the commission shall not be subjected to direction or control of any authority or persons".

For the offence bordering on acts of terrorism, the life imprisonment sentence has now been reduced to a maximum of seven years on conviction.

Attempts by some senators to ensure that serving police officers like Nuhu Ribadu(EFCC chairman) do not have the opportunity of sitting at the helms of affairs of the commission, however met a brickwall, as majority of the senators rose in defence of Ribadu, saying that he has so far performed credibly.

While all the amendments proposed by the ad hoc committee that worked on the Act were the ones adpoted by the senate, the amendment that now mandates the EFCC to obtain a court order before freezing the account of or confiscate a suspect's property was proposed by the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Jonathan Zwingina and it was adopted.

When Apollo Mission Astronaut Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon, he not only gave his famous "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" statement but followed it by several remarks, usual com traffic between him, the other astronauts and Mission Control.

Just before he re-entered the lander, however, he made the enigmatic remark "Good luck, Mr. Gorsky."

Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet Cosmonaut. However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American space programs.

Over the years many people questioned Armstrong as to what the "Good luck, Mr. Gorsky" statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled. On July 5, 1995 (in Tampa Bay, FL) while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26 year old question to Armstrong. This time he finally responded. Mr. Gorsky had finally died and so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question.

When he was a kid, he was playing baseball with a friend in the backyard. His friend hit a fly ball which landed in the front of his neighbor's bedroom windows. His neighbors were Mr. & Mrs. Gorsky. As he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs. Gorsky shouting at Mr. Gorsky, "Oral sex! You want oral sex?! You'll get oral sex when the kid next door walks on the moon!"

A True story.

2 Short jokes!

A man and his wife were having problems in their relationship so they went to a psychologist.

The psychologist, who was a man, saw the couple several times but to no avail.

The man said he didn't understand what she was talking about. Finally, after many sessions of explaining to a man his wife's need for affection, a psychologist lost his patience.

He told the man's wife to take off her clothes, then he had sex with her, and told the man, "This is what your wife needs every day".

The man frowned, thought for a moment, then said, "OK, what time do you want me to bring her back tomorrow?"The woman complained her husband wasn't affectionate.

Chinese man rings his boss. "Me no work, I sick." His boss says, "When I am sick I f**k my wife, try that."

Two hours later the Chinese man rings back. "Me better, you got nice house!"
Have you ever wondered where and how yodeling began?

Many years ago a man was traveling through the mountains of Switzerland .Nightfall was rapidly approaching and he had nowhere to sleep. He went up to a farmhouse and asked the farmer if he could spend the night.
The farmer told him that he could sleep in the barn.

As the story goes, the farmer's daughter asked her father, "Who is that man going into the barn?""That fellow traveling through," said the farmer, "needs a place to stay for the night, so, I told him he could sleep in the barn.
"The daughter said, "Perhaps he is hungry." So she prepared a plate of food for him and then took it out to the barn.

About an hour later, the daughter returned. Her clothing disheveled and straw in her hair. Straight up to bed she went.

The farmer’s wife was very observant. She then suggested that perhaps the man was thirsty. So she fetched a bottle of wine, took it out to the barn, and she too did not return for an hour Her clothing was askew, her blouse buttoned incorrectly. She also headed straight to bed.

The next morning at sunrise the man in the barn got up and continued on his journey, waving to the farmer as he left.

When the daughter awoke and learned that the visitor was gone, she broke into tears. "How could he leave without even saying goodbye," she cried. "We made such passionate love last night!" "What?" shouted the father as he angrily ran out of the house looking for the man, who by now was halfway up the mountain.
The farmer screamed up at him, "I'm going to get you! You had sex with my daughter!"

The man looked back down from the mountainside, cupped his hand next to his mouth, and yelled out......

You have to love this Lawyer !

Only in Louisiana - you have to love this lawyer -

It's too good not to share!

Everyone who has ever bought a house will enjoy this.

A New Orleans lawyer sought an FHA loan for a client who lost his house in Hurricane Katrina and wanted to rebuild. He was told the loan would be granted if he could prove satisfactory title to the parcel of property being offered as collateral. The title to the property dated back to 1803, which took the Lawyer three months to track down. After sending the information to the FHA, he received the following reply:

(Actual letter):

"Upon review of your letter adjoining your client's loan application, we note that the request is supported by an Abstract of Title. While we compliment the able manner in which you have prepared and presented the application, we must point out that you have only cleared title to the proposed collateral property back to 1803. Before final approval can be accorded, it will be necessary to clear the title back to its origin.

"Annoyed, the lawyer responded as follows:

(Actual Letter):

"Your letter regarding title in Case No. 189156 has been received. I note that you wish to have title extended further than the 194 years covered by the present application. I was unaware that any educated person in this country, particularly those working in the property area, would not know that Louisiana was purchased, by the U.S, from France in 1803, the year of origin identified in our application. For the edification of uninformed FHA bureaucrats, the title to the land prior to U.S ownership was obtained from France , which had acquired it by Right of Conquest from Spain . The land came into the possession of Spain by Right of Discovery made in the year 1492 by a sea captain named Christopher Columbus, who had been granted the privilege of seeking a new route to India by the Spanish monarch, Isabella. The good queen, Isabella, being a pious woman and almost as careful about titles as the FHA, took the precaution of securing the blessing of the Pope before she sold her jewels to finance Columbus ' expedition.

Now the Pope, as I 'm sure you may know, is the emissary of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and God, it is commonly accepted, created this world.

Therefore, I believe it is safe to presume that God also made that part of the world called Louisiana .

God, therefore, would be the owner of origin and His origins date back to before the beginning of time, the world as we know it AND the FHA.I hope you find God's original claim to be satisfactory.

Now, may we have our damn loan?"

He got the loan.
