Man's inhumanity to Man

A suspect, Samson Igbinomewahin, 47, was on Monday arraigned at an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly pouring acid on his wife, Mrs. Susan Jeremiah, 31.

Jeremiah, a corporal in the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria... Police in Ikoyi, Lagos, was brought to court with one side of her body disfigured by the acid attack.
Igbinomewahin was charged with attempted murder. The charge sheet read in part that Igbinomewahin “on the 9th of March, 2011, at block 8, room 31, Obalende Police Barrack, Lagos…did unlawfully attempt to kill Susan Jeremiah by pouring acid substance on her body and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 320 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 17 Vol. II Laws of Lagos State 2003.”
The Magistrate, Mrs. Helen Omisore, had earlier asked Igbinomewahin if he wanted to be tried at either the magistrate or higher court before his plea was taken.
The suspect, who chose to be tried in the magistrate court, thereafter pleaded not guilty.
Igbinomewahin’s lawyer, Mr. Olatunde Kolawole, urged the court to grant him bail, saying the issue was “a domestic accident.” Besides, he told the court that the suspect had been in custody for more than a month.
At this point, Igbinomewahin interrupted the court proceeding by telling his lawyer that he had been detained for more than two months.
The magistrate shouted the suspect down and asked the court orderly to stand beside him in order to prevent further interruption.
But the victim’s lawyer, Mr. Lucky Oizimende , objected the bail application. He told the court that Jeremiah was still in intensive care, adding that, “what would stop him from going back to kill her?”
PUNCH METRO gathered that Igbinomewahin and his wife, whom he married in 2009, had been having running battles on his insistence that his wife should finance his proposed trip to Malaysia.
As part of the plan, our correspondent gathered that the suspect asked his wife to sell off her landed property and use the proceeds to facilitate his supposed trip.
Igbinomewahin was said to have promised his wife that she would join him when he settled down in Malaysia. PUNCH METRO, however, learnt that Jeremiah was skeptical about this arrangement.
Before the incident, our correspondent learnt that Jeremiah had already filed for divorce and the matter was still pending in another court.
As a result of the pending suit, the couple no longer live together. But the marriage is blessed with a child.
Police investigation revealed that on the fateful day, the suspect allegedly visited his estranged wife and brought a polythene bag into her apartment at police barracks, Obalende, and told his wife that it contained their baby’s food. It was learnt that when Jeremiah saw the content, she became suspicious and fled.
Igbinomewahin allegedly ran after her and poured the content in the polythene bag on her through the window.
The magistrate however adjourned ruling on the bail application till April 29, 2011, and ordered the suspect to be remanded in Ikoyi Prisons.

Nigerians need to stop this barbaric act!!

Most Nigerians are known to rush to judgement especially when it comes to seeing something they think is 'unusual'. You see someone walking funny, you think he walks that way cos he has something to hide. It could be he walks that way cos he has health issues. (Did you think of that?).
You see someone who looks like someone who robbed you previously, you raise an alarm, a mob gathers, beats him up and sets him ablaze in BROAD DAY LIGHT!!
The most ridiculous one was the one that happened some days ago!!You see someone with tattered clothes, eating under the bridge (which is his home), you IGNORANTLY assume he's eating human flesh, raise an alarm, create a mob and BEAT him up??? WTH?? Who does that??? It doesn't even ANY make sense! But that was what happened to these guys!

According to PM News, a passer-by along the rail line in Ikeja saw three men in tattered clothes. One of them was making a call while the other ate meat suspected to be human flesh. Like.. seriously??

The passer-by raised an alarm that attracted the mob which instantly pounced on the two suspect human part eaters. But the one making the phone call managed to escape.

Their problem was compounded when the mob moved to the suspects' hideout behind the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat fence and found a cutlass, knife, charms and meat with fat which the mob suspected to be human flesh.

When a detachment of policemen from Area ‘F’ arrived the scene, Abiodun told them, that he was a carpenter but had no money to set up a workshop.

Abiodun claimed to be from Akiniku in Moloney area of Ilaro, Yewa, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria. He added that he made the hideout his residence as he could not afford to rent a room for himself.

He explained that the meat discovered in their hideout was a cow fat which they eat and not human parts.

After intensive questioning, the policemen were convinced that the suspects were mistaken for human parts eaters and sellers by the mob. They were later released.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS on the incident, a police officer who preferred anonymity advised the public to investigate suspected criminals before taking any action.

But for the timely intervention of the policemen, the officer noted, the suspects would have been set ablaze.

It's 2012 people!!!

The world's most beautiful woman (In my opinion) is Engaged!!!

Halle Berry who has been married twice before – to Basketball player David Justice in the early 1990s, and to singer Eric Benét in the early 2000s – and has a daughter Nahla, who turns 4 this month, with Gabriel Aubrey is currently engaged to French actor Olivier Martinez. (Long wrap sheet, lol).

Olivier confirmed this yesterday at the opening of his restaurant -Villa Azur in Miami, Florida.

Olivier who is 46 said the emerald engagement ring he gave to Ms Berry who is 45, was actually designed by Robert Mazlo of Paris, whom he called "a real artist" who has been making jewelry for "kings and queens for many centuries."

These two met while working on the film Dark Tide; they stepped out as a couple in the fall of 2010 and have since been an item.

Halle said Olivier treats her well and that he is a 'keeper', I hope she keeps this one this time, lol.

Texas children found abandoned in a school bus while parents are in prison

I read this news yesterday and shook my head. An 11 year old girl and her 5 year old brother were left to fend for themselves after their parents were found guilty and  incarcerated for embezzlement. These kids lived in a School bus in Sephora Texas, 30 miles from Houston. A postal carrier was the one who made this discovery and alerted Child Protective Services.

According to their Mom, these kids' Aunt were supposed to be responsible for them. She was supposed to visit the kids everyday to provide them with meals.
Really??? Who in their sane mind allows 2 little children to live in a bus by themselves?? Why did the Aunt not take the kids to her OWN home to live with her until their parents or at least their Mom was released from Prison?

According to newspaper reports, there didn't seem to be any type of food in the bus when they went in there, the little girl's hair was matted like a stray dog's. Of course it was, the kids were fending for themselves! This is the highest form of irresponsibility by the adults in their lives.

Their parents, Mark and Sherrie Shorten, were convicted of embezzling money from victims of Hurricane Ike. The mother was arrested in December 2010, the father in March 2011.

According to their Dad who was interviewed yesterday after the kids were taken by CPS on Wednesday, the school bus was supposed to be a temporary home site until they could build their own home on that same plot of land.
He said the bus has hot and cold running water, including a shower and flush toilets, as well as heat and closets. So EFFING what??? Anything could have happened to those kids, ANYTHING!!

A Louisiana attorney who represented the children’s mother prior to her imprisonment said the Aunt was supposed to be taking care of them...Well she didn't! These children lived in a School bus but weren't even enrolled in School! The little girl is said to be intelligent but didn't know how to sign her name when she was asked to do so. SERIOUSLY!?!! These parents are.....
No charges have yet been filed against the parents.

Fortunately, their Mom will be released from prison in 30 days. Hopefully, she will be able to get her kids back and nurture them properly.

Iraqi mother burns face of her 19 year old daughter for refusing arranged wedding

An Iraqi mother accused of beating her teenage daughter for not going along with an arranged marriage pleaded not guilty yesterday in a case police said involved burning the teen on her face and chest with a hot spoon.

Yusra Farhan, 50, entered the plea to charges of aggravated assault, unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest.

The daughter, 19, refused to participate in an arranged marriage with a 38-year-old man, authorities said.

Two other defendants, the victim's sister, 18-year-old Tabarak Altameemi, and father, 45-year-old Mohammed Altameemi, also pleaded not guilty to assault and unlawful imprisonment.

MyFoxPhoenix.com cited court records showing that on Feb. 7 Mohammed Altameemi got mad at his daughter because she left night class with a boy. The father picked her up at school and took her home.

He is accused of cutting his daughter’s neck with a knife. Police say he admitted he was trying to kill her, but Tabarak Altameemi intervened.

They, other siblings and Farhan then allegedly taped the 19-year-old's mouth, bound her hands and body with rope and beat her.

The altercation over the arranged marriage occurred in November, MyFoxPhoenix.com reported. At that time, the victim's sisters and mom allegedly held her down and beat her, with Farhan accused of putting a hot spoon against her daughter's face and chest.

"I swear I didn't hurt her, only slightly, just like any parent would do to their children. Nobody would hurt their own children. You can ask her if she can be here with me," Farhan told a judge, according to a translation.

Lil Wayne proposed to his gf- Dhea almost at the same time as Wiz Khalifa. According to MediaTakeOut.com, Lil’ Wayne and Dhea got engaged on Valentine’s Day, the rock is said to be 12 carats and worth $1 million.

Snooki's ex hopes she has a miscarriage

Remember the story about Snooki being pregnant? Well, Snooki’s ex-boyfriend Emilio Masella told TMZ that he hopes Snooki has a miscarriage! He also thinks the baby is Vinny’s and NOT her boyfriend Jionni’s.

He also said "I hope for her sake … not to be rude or anything … but I hope she has a miscarriage.” "I would def recommend her to get pregnancy test to see who the father is because I’m sure there are other subjects. According to Emilio, Snooki always used to tell him she wanted twins when they were together but he doesn’t think she grasps the concept of being pregnant and taking care of children.
Emilio also thinks Snooki is going to have a baby and then leave Jionni right afterwards.

81-year-old Rhode Island woman wins $336.4M Powerball jackpot

An 81-year-old Rhode Island woman, Louise White won last month's $336.4 million Powerball jackpot, sleeping with the winning ticket in her Bible until coming forward today to claim the sixth-largest U.S. prize.

She bought three lottery tickets for $9 one of which had the winning numbers. Ms White said she didn't believe it when she realised she had won the jackpot! She checked online to be sure then asked her Son and Daughter-In-Law whom she lives with to make sure. Everyone confirmed the ticket by comparing the numbers on her ticket with the winning numbers .

She will take a lump sum payment of $210 million, the highest ever for Powerball, officials said. The jackpot was the third largest in Powerball history and the largest ever won in Rhode Island, officials said.
Since she bought the ticket from Newport Stop & Shop supermarket, the ticket is being claimed in the name of the Rainbow Sherbet Trust. The supermarket doesn't get any bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Why don't things like this happen to me na?? Lol. I am happy for her though, at least she will ENJOY the rest of her years on earth in LUXURY.

Father who beat 16 year old boy to face at least 10 years in prison

Last summer, 35 year old, 6ft 5 in and 200 pounds Gary Johnson served as a referee in the match between his son and a 16 year old boy. The match occurred in his (Johnson's) backyard but his son lost the match.

The teen could be seen in the video below talking back at Gary Johnson and at one point bumped chests with him. Gary got mad at this disrespectful behavior and knocked the kid to the ground but it didn't end there. To make a long story short, Mr Johnson showed him who was boss. At the end of the video though, he shook the kid's hand.

Unfortunately for him however, someone who recorded the fight put it on YouTube. It went viral, people saw it, cops got involved and arrested Johnson.



In court, the kid testified that he challenged Gary and said he remembered falling to the ground and being hit by Johnson but blacked out after that. He further said "I had a split eyebrow, and my teeth were pushed back,'. 'The inside of my lip was tore, well my teeth were penetrated through my lip, and the front of my teeth still now are numbed".

Gary Johnson of Palm Bay, Florida fainted moments after his verdict was read in court Friday, finding him guilty of battery, child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and disorderly conduct. He faces up to 57 years in prison though he's expected by prosecutors and his defense to see 10 years.

Nigerian student arrested, charged with murder in Texas

Texas Tech student Sampson Blake Oguntope, 21, is being charged with murder in regard to a fatal Slaton shooting which left an 89 year old woman dead and a 21 year old female injured.

Oguntope, who is a native of Houston is currently in police custody at the Lubbock County Detention Center and his bail was raised to at least $5 million — formerly $500,000.

According to this report, yes his actions may have looked suspicious but I am not really sure he did what he's been accused of doing. I am not talking based on the fact that he's a fellow Nigerian, I am talking based on the evidence provided thus far.

Zac Efron drops condom on red carpet

At last week's The Lorax premiere, Zac Efron caused quite a stir when he pulled his hands out of his trouser pockets and accidentally dropped a condom on the red carpet. He quickly picked it up and laughed it off with a red face, lol.

Yesterday, Zac went on Today's show to promote the animated movie. Predictably, Matt Lauer asked Zac about the condom incident, saying with a smile: "Your name brings a lot of attention to this role and this movie, and there's something else that brought a lot of attention to this movie recently, Zac, at the premiere,"

Zac said "Yeah,never really had a pocket-checking policy when I was going on the red carpet before, but now we've fully instated one." Lol.
Matt Lauer went ahead and said "better to be safe than sorry". Zac though embarrassed agreed with him, lol.

Teacher leaves his family to be with his student

A 41 year old California school teacher has quit his job and left his wife and kids to move into an apartment with an 18-year-old student.
James Hooker quit his teaching job at Enochs High School last week and left his wife and children, one of them an Enochs student, to live with Enochs senior, Jordan Powers.

James first met Jordan when she was a freshman in high school, but maintains that their physical relationship did not begin until she was 18.

Jordan's mother said she has evidence that the pair had inappropriate relations long before and she believes he abused his authority as a teacher.

Modesto police are investigating whether there was inappropriate contact before the girl turned 18 last fall.

James acknowledges the couple hurt a lot of people, but says they decided to follow their hearts. Jordan said she knew that many people did not understand the nature of the relationship.

Jordan said ” he's my best friend. I mean he's more than just a lover," she said.

Jordan's Mom has waged a Facebook campaign against James since her daughter moved out of the family's home last week and into a Modesto apartment with him. The FB page is titled 'James Hooker to Jail page'.
The embarrassing part is that his oldest child who's 17 is still a student at that school and everyone now knows about the couple's relationship.
It's just wrong.

As soon as the Teacher got arrested, the student dumped his stupid a$$.

Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose Engaged

Congratulations to the latest engaged couple- Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose!!

Rumors have been going around for months now that these two were engaged but both of them had always denied it, however, Wiz Khalifa made it official via twitter about three hours ago that he's officially engaged to Amber Rose!!
On his twitter account, he tweeted "She said yes!!" and uploaded a picture of the ring he gave to his fiance. Friends and family have been congratulating him on his page.

I love the ring he gave to her. It's very beautiful and not over the top like other celebrities engagement rings. It's not the size of the ring but the size of the love between a couple. No homo but she's got a beautiful hand and I love her nail polish too. ;-)
How cute is it that they didn't have kids first before getting married. They are doing it the traditional (right) way- Marriage before kids. Good job guys. ;-)

Snooki pregnant

Rumor mill has been churning with the news that 'pint size' Snooki is pregnant with her boy friend-Jionni LaValle's baby.

I'm not a fan of the show- Jersey shore nor Snooki hence have been trying to ignore this news but it keeps popping up everywhere online. According to gists everywhere, Snooki (whose real name is  Nicole Polizzi) is supposed to be about three or four months preggo.

Snooki denied this rumor on “Good Morning America", but sources very close to her say she is really pregnant.

According to reports flying everywhere, last week, Snooki took to her Twitter page to tweet about not feeling well and the cravings she was having:

“I feel sick,” she tweeted. “Late night craving…yogurt hits the fricken spot!” she later added.

Madam Snooki if you are actually pregnant, make it official so that people who don't have anything better to do with their time can rest, lol.
UPDATE: She made it official and it's a boy.

I discovered something funny while surfing the web, lol. Before J. Lo's near nip slip at the Oscars, I never knew some celebrities had twitter handles named after their body parts, lol.

During the award show, someone created a handle for Angelina Jolie's right leg, @AngiesRightLeg, lol. This twitter handle popped up after Angelina Jolie walked the Oscar red carpet with her entire right leg exposed through the slit of her Versace dress, lol. As at last count @AngiesRightLeg had 40,965 followers.

After the Oscars, a Twitter account called @JLosNipple, was created with the inaugural Tweet: “Did you see me?” lol. As at last count, it had 5588 followers.

Rumor has it that 44 year old 'unbreak my heart' crooner is dating 50 year old, father of eight- Eddie Murphy.

This romance is rumored to have been going on for up to four months now.

Kids, killings, bad behavior and little or no consequence

On Friday, In Long Beach California, two little Elementary kids - a 10 and 11 year old, got into a fight in an alley after school hours.. this fight was over a boy they both liked.
Witnesses said the fight was planned during school hours and most kids were aware of it. The girls who watched the fight said they tried to stop it but the boys didn't let them. According to Joanna's friend "the two girls took off their backpacks,  put their hair in a bun, and then that's when they said `go' and that's when they started hitting each other".She said the fight only lasted 1 minute and no one fell to the ground.

However, after the fight,10 year old Joanna Ramos went back to school to participate in after school extracurricular activities, she didn't have any physical injury but complained to her classmate and teacher that 'her head hurt'. So she was sent home.

On her way home she complained of a headache and vomited all the way, so her Mom took her to the hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for a blood clot on her brain. Unfortunately, she died six hours after the fight.
Apparently, the other girl landed some heavy blows to her head during the fight which caused some internal bleeding.
Joanna's death has now been ruled a homicide but 11 year old  has not yet been charged.

Yesterday, a 17 year old Ohio high school kid took a gun to school, shot 10 rounds and killed 3 of his school mates, leaving 1 in critical condition in the Hospital, he has since been arrested.

Then in Fresno, three fifth graders poisoned their teacher's coffee with rat poison, fortunately for the teacher however, one of the culprits changed his mind and knocked off the teacher's coffee. This incident happened in December but no one knew about it until the Mom of one of the culprits started bragging that her son saved the teacher's life.
The school authorities expelled the three kids as soon as they heard about the incident and reported it to the Fresno police.
The school teachers don't think expulsion is enough punishment though, they want the kids to have some legal action filed against them for what they did.

These are all kids who were/are just starting their lives. Why cant kids just be kids?? Go to school, study, come home, eat/ do your homework, go outside and play with other kids....like normal children.
What type of kids are we raising?? Why didn't the parents of the 5th graders severely punish their kids for trying to kill another human?? Seriously. Are these the kids that are tomorrow's future?? OMG!!

We are in trouble..BIG trouble.

High School killing in Ohio

Yesterday, 17 year old T.J Lane took a .22 caliber pistol to Chardon High School in Cleveland Ohio. It was alleged that he fired 10 rounds at his school mates whom he picked at random. These schoolmates of his, sat at table in the school cafeteria when he opened fire. Fellow students who witnessed the shooting said they all ran from the cafeteria when the shooting occurred.

Five students were shot. One student Daniel Parmertor, 16, died yesterday, two more teenagers Demetrius Hewlin, 16 and Russell King Jr., 17, were both declared dead this morning (Demetrius was declared brain dead hence his family gave permission to take him off life support), the fourth student is still in hospital in a critical condition while the other student has been released from the hospital today.

T.J., as he's popularly known is said to be from a troubled home, his Dad was arrested for trying to kill his Mother some years ago but I don't know if he witnessed that incident. He attended Lake Academy, a school for students with academic or behavioral problems which was located some miles away from Chardon High. His school mates said he was a quiet kid who kept his emotions to himself. It has also been rumored that one of the boys he killed (Russel King Jnr) was dating his ex gf, so who knows if revenge was a motive??

He was chased from the school premises by one of the teachers of the school and was apprehended by cops some miles away.

T.J. appeared in Geauga County Juvenile Court today where the Judge was supposed to determine if he's going to be treated as a minor or an adult. The Judge ordered T.J held in detention pending the filing of formal charges against him.

Chris Brown in another drama

Reports over this weekend claim that as Chris Brown was leaving a club, a woman- Christal Shanae Spann followed him to his car and took a picture with her cell phone. Chris Brown allegedly grabbed her phone from her hand and said ” You ain't gonna put that on no website” and drove away with her phone.

Christal made a police report and the offense has since been described as 'Robbery by sudden snatching' but Chris Brown said he did nothing wrong.
I guess these two love birds- Rihanna and Chris Brown can't stay away from negative publicity, lol.
I wish them well.
