Mom visits former US Marine sentenced to death in Iran

According to abc News, the mother of the former U.S. Marine who was sentenced to death in Iran on a spying conviction in January 2012, has visited her son in an Iranian prison.

Amir Hekmati's Mom was able to see her 28-year-old son several times during a visit to Iran and has since returned home. Amir who was a former Military translator with dual U.S.-Iranian citizenship was in Iran to visit his grandmothers when he was arrested.

Iranian prosecutors say Hekmati was working for the CIA and accused him of receiving special training and serving at U.S. military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan before heading to Iran for an alleged intelligence mission. In December, Iran broadcast a video on state television in which Amir was shown delivering a purported confession in which he said he was part of a plot to infiltrate Iran's Intelligence Agency.

Amir, his family and the US government have denied this false allegation.

I believe he is innocent and really hope he gets released
