Oh my goodness!!
A woman, Karla Vanessa Perez who already has a daughter and a set of five month old triplets is now pregnant with nine children.
She said the Doctors told her she is pregnant with six girls and three boys...All nine of them, currently, living inside one woman. Na wa o.
The Mexican news station Televisa broke the news of the 32-year-old mother's record-breaking multiple pregnancy this week, and Gawker has already stamped her with the tabloid-ready nickname "nonomom."
Televisa confirmed that Karla underwent fertility treatments before her pregnancy. She is currently in a Saltillo hospital. She said she is from Coahuila originally. "I just hope that everything goes well," she told the news station.
Doctors are concentrating on making sure she has a safe delivery.
Karla's children are likely to arrive two months early, and will have to be placed in incubation until they reach a stable weight. Her scheduled C-section is reported to be May 20, unless she is in good enough shape to withstand their continued growth.
If all goes well, the next hurdle will be how to support and care, not only for her nine newborns, but for her four other young kids. For now, the family is living with her in-laws in Coahuila, Mexico, near the Texas border. "My husband doesn't make so much money as a tire fitter so I think we're going to need extra help with hospital costs and everything," she said in the interview.
She's hoping that sharing her story with the public will lead to some generosity. Already Ernesto Cepeda Valdes, the mayor of city where she lives, has made a grandiose promise. "We will be like godparents to those babies and give all the support we can," he told the news.
It's a pity she is in Mexico because if she had been here, she probably would have had her own realty TV show- like the Duggar family (19 kids and counting) and made good money. Oh well.
I hope she has a safe pregnancy and delivery and I hope like Octomom all 9 of them survive.
Just found out that this lady's story was a hoax. She was NEVER pregnant with 9 kids. She made up this story in order to gain sympathy and financial assistance from the public. Some local newspaper in Perez's Mexican town challenged her claims after they read the story. According to a reporter from El Diario de Coahuila who spoke with Perez's mother, she is not pregnant at all. A Telemundo reporter also claimed to have evidence that Perez is lying, according to MSNBC.
By this evening, Reuters, one of the first major U.S. news outlets to pick up the original story, confirmed it was a hoax.
It's not clear how many people were involved in Karla's hoax, but her story roped a lot of people in.
