Pippa Middleton in gun trouble

Pippa Middleton who was invited to Paris to celebrate the 30th birthday party of her friend; aristocrat and fashion leader Vicomte Arthur de Soultrait, is in hot water.

After partying at a raucous, raunchy bash in Paris until 5 a.m., 28 yr old Pippa , took a spin with three pals in a convertible on Saturday when photographers snapped the foursome -- and, in a bizarre turn of events, the driver of the car took out what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol and aimed it at the photographer. Sitting in the passenger seat, Middleton laughed. The man with the gun has been identified as Romain Rabillard, a 36-year-old French attorney, who ironically represents German firearms manufacturer Heckler & Koch.

The pictures were submitted to the Police who are now investigating the incident.

Pippa is been been defended by her friend Marcy de Soultrait, who attended the fancy party with her.
Soultrait, brother of designer Vicomte Arthur de Soultrait, reiterated that it was a toy gun. "Pippa is a very good friend of mine and this gun affair is very silly. It was a children's toy that the driver had in his car," he claimed. "Pippa thought it was funny. FYI: Vicomte is the guy in the blue shirt sitting behind Pippa.

If the gun is real, the incident could carry a penalty of up to seven years in jail for everyone in the car or two years if it's a fake.

"If the evidence points to her involvement, she will be prosecuted," a source told the Sun regarding Middleton. "Anybody involved in the illegal use of a handgun in public is liable to arrest and interrogation."

In France, carrying a firearm in plain view in a public place is prohibited. Civilians are not allowed to possess automatic firearms or firearms disguised as other objects (fake gun). The maximum penalty for illicit possession of firearms is seven years prison and a fine.

Update:
Pippa's friend and host; French aristocrat Vicomte Arthur de Soultrait, has issued an apology to her and an explanation for what has turned into a cause célèbre over a toy gun that was apparently jokingly pointed at paparazzi.
"Last Saturday," said de Soultrait's statement, which was released in Paris this afternoon, "I was in a car with Philippa Middleton, and we were being followed by paparazzi.
"She had been subject to constant and dangerous harassment by paparazzi throughout her time in Paris. The car was being driven by a friend of mine, whom Pippa had only met a few hours before. As a joke, my friend brandished a toy pistol in their direction.
"Obviously Philippa had no idea that he was going to do that and told him to stop immediately. She did not find it funny. "I regret enormously that this incident happened, and especially that Pippa has been subject to the subsequent attention through no fault of her own. I have apologized to her for this."
